I teach financial econometrics to final year undergraduate students and a trading principles module to MSc computational finance and trading students. I have designed both to focus on a ‘deriving by doing’ experience, providing the practical reality to each subjects’ theoretical underpinning. I also consult with local companies running intensive data analytics courses for their staff.
My academic research interests include, benchmarking relative performance using efficiency and productivity analysis, financial institutions and credit unions. My latest projects include regulatory compliance and banking performance, liquidity creation in irish credit unions, stability efficiency in credit unions, football team performance and financial fair play and the opportunity cost of capital regulation compliance.
I am a serial Bodhran player and have taught in the Glengormley School of Traditional Music over the last number of years. My bodhran page includes lessons that i have used in my classes and a ‘play-along’ player which has tunes at various speeds to facilitate learning.
